Signal stickers
Signal sticker maker: 512×512 WebP under 300KB
Signal resizes every sticker to 512×512 and hard-rejects anything over 300KB. The exporter renders your canvas straight to a transparent 512×512 WebP and walks quality down until the file fits — no manual squashing.
Packs are assembled in Signal Desktop's built-in sticker creator, which also asks for a cover image. The download includes one, so the whole upload takes minutes.

How to publish on Signal
- Design the sticker. Upload, template, or AI. Keep the subject large in frame — Signal renders stickers small in the chat timeline.
- Export under 300KB. The 512×512 WebP is compressed in passes until it clears Signal's limit, and the pack cover ships in the same download.
- Build the pack in Signal Desktop. Signal Desktop → File → Create/Upload Sticker Pack, drop in the WebP files and cover, assign an emoji to each, and publish — the pack syncs to your phone.
Questions
What format are Signal stickers?
Static stickers are PNG or WebP at 512×512, 300KB maximum each. Animated stickers must be APNG (GIF is not accepted) with the same size cap, and packs hold up to 200 stickers.
Can I make animated Signal stickers here?
Signal only accepts APNG for animation, so export the static WebP here; if you need motion, convert the animated GIF to APNG with any free converter before uploading.
Do Signal sticker packs need a cover?
Yes — Signal Desktop's sticker creator asks for one cover image per pack. The export includes a 512×512 cover PNG for exactly that field.
